February was CTE month- a time that vocational schools across the state use to celebrate the importance of technical education.  Normally, CCTEC celebrates CTE month by having our eleven programs square off against each other in some friendly competition during our annual CTE pep rally.  Although we were not able to facilitate our annual pep-rally (due to social distancing restrictions), students were still provided the opportunity to celebrate their chosen career pathway!  Students earned points for their CTE program by participating in the following activities:

  • Dress like your shop teacher day!
  • Wear your program color day!
  • Collect soda tabs for our annual Ronald McDonald House fund raiser- soda can tabs were weighed at the end of CTE week for each CTE program.
  • Each shop selected champions to represent them at minute-to-win-it games.

After all competitions were complete, points were tallied and our Information Technology program came out on top!  See results below:

  1. Information Technology
  2. Health Sciences and Medicine
  3. Construction Trades

Congratulations to Mr. Morales and our IT students!
