VINELAND, NJ (November 7, 2016) – Scarpa TEC Interact Club students recently partnered with Vineland Rotary Club and the Vineland High School Interact Club in an international project of Pedals for Progress. The non-profit organization’s mission is to supply aid by recycling bicycles in the U.S. and shipping them to people of the developing world.
Students Nyleah Brown, Bianca Cortes, Semajh Goldsboro, Alyson Lorence and Paola Mercado worked together on Thursday, November 3rd to break down and process 36 bikes to add to the more than 100 bicycles the Vineland Rotary already collected. The bikes will be shipped to Guatemala and provide a means for people to commute to work, transport produce to market or access health care and other services.
